PRIVACY POLICY
This webpage refers to personal data, which is defined as information concerning any living person (a natural person who hereafter will be called the Data Subject) that is not already in the public domain.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which is EU wide and far more extensive than its predecessor the Data Protection Act, along with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), seek to protect and enhance the rights of EU data subjects. These rights cover the safeguarding of personal data, protection against the unlawful processing of personal data and the unrestricted movement of personal data within the EU and its storage within the EEA.
1. LIFELINE SECURITY LTD
Lifeline Security Ltd trading as Lifeline Fire & Security, based at Unit B5 Spectrum Business Centre, Medway City Estate, Rochester, Kent, ME2 4NP which hereafter for the purpose of this Privacy Notice will be referred to as Lifeline, is pleased to provide the following privacy information.
2. WHO WE ARE
Lifeline is the data controller. This means it decides how your personal data is processed and for what purpose. Lifeline Installs and maintains Intruder Alarms, CCTV, Fire, Emergency lighting, Disabled Refuge, Access Control, Barriers and Gates.
3. PERSONAL DATA
We may collect, store and use the following kinds of personal information:
a. Information that you provide to us such as your name, address, date of birth, telephone number, email address, bank account and payment card details and any feedback you give to us, including by phone, email, post, meetings or when you communicate with us via social media;
b. Information about the Services that we provide to you (including for example, the things we have provided to you, when and where, what you paid, the way you use our products and Services, and so on) the business does not sell or broker your data;
c. For Marketing purpose, Lifeline may also use the contact details provided by you to respond to your enquiries, including making telephone contact and emailing information to you which the office believes maybe of interest to you;
d. Information if you visit one of our offices (including for example visual images collected via closed circuit television (CCTV));
e. Information you may provide us about other people (including for example, property agents, tenants, family members, key holders and so on);
f. Information about your computer and about your visits to and use of our website.
g. Any other information that you choose to send to us.
Where you provide information about other people to us (including for example, name, telephone number) you are confirming by submitting said information that you have the permission of the third party to do so and that the information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
4. HOW WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We comply with our obligations by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
a. Provide services and fulfil our contracts;
b. Deal with any of your transactions;
c. Meet compliance obligations;
d. Take payment from you or give you a refund;
e. Website administration;
f. For internal operational requirements;

The legitimate interests of the company, which are our usual business activities.
DISCLOSURE
Lifeline will keep your personal information safe and secure, engineers involved in carrying out the works at the property will have access to your client records, although our administration team will have access to your contact details so that they can make appointments and manage your contract etc. Employees will not disclose your Personal Information unless compelled to, in order to meet legal obligations, regulations or valid governmental requests. Lifeline may also enforce its Terms and Conditions, including investigating potential violations of its Terms and Conditions to detect, prevent or mitigate fraud or security or technical issues; or to protect against imminent harm to the rights, property or safety of its staff.
RETENTION POLICY
Lifeline will process personal data during the duration of any installations, maintenance and monitoring contracts and will continue to store only the personal data needed for eight years after the contract has expired to meet any legal obligations. After eight years all personal data will be deleted, unless basic information needs to be retained by us to meet our future obligations to you, such as erasure details.
If we wish to use your personal data for a new purpose, not covered by this Data Protection Notice, then we will provide you with a new notice explaining this new use prior to commencing the processing and setting out the relevant purposes and processing conditions. Where and whenever necessary, we will seek your prior consent to the new processing.
DATA STORAGE
We will not share your personal data with any third parties without your prior consent (which you are free to withhold) except where required to do so by law or as set out below. We may pass your personal data to third parties who are service providers, agents and subcontractors to us for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf. However, we disclose only the personal data that is necessary for the third party to deliver the service and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and not to use it for their own purposes. All Data is held in the United Kingdom.
YOUR RIGHTS AS A DATA SUBJECT
At any point whilst Lifeline is in possession of, or processing your personal data, all data subjects have the following rights:
a. Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.
b. Right of rectification – you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.
c. Right to be forgotten – in certain circumstances you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.
d. Right to restriction of processing – where certain conditions apply you have a right to restrict the processing.
e. Right of portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation.
f. Right to object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.
g. Right to object to automated processing, including profiling – you also have the right not to be subject to the legal effects of automated processing or profiling.
In the event Lifeline refuses your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason as to why, which you have the right to legally challenge. At your request Lifeline can confirm what information it holds about you and how it is processed.

We keep our privacy policy under regular review and we will place any updates on this web page. This privacy policy was last updated on December 2020.
TO ACCESS WHAT PERSONAL DATA IS HELD, IDENTIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED
Lifeline will accept the following forms of identification (ID) when information on your personal data is requested: a copy of your driving license, passport, birth certificate and a utility bill not older than three months. A minimum of one piece of photographic ID listed above and a supporting document is required. If Administration team are dissatisfied with the quality, further information may be sought before personal data can be released. COMPLAINTS
In the event that you wish to make a complaint about how your personal data is being processed by Lifeline you have the right to complain to us. If you do not get a response within 30 days, you can complain to the ICO.
